There’s a scene in Saving Private Ryan where two snipers are stalking each other. One finds the other in his scope and is about to pull the trigger, when all the sudden, the scope shatters, and we watch the other sniper has already made the kill shot.
Those shots don’t happen by accident. Snipers train for hours at hitting shots hundreds, if not thousands, of yards away.
And now you can be trained by one in minutes.
In the linked video below, former Sniper instructor Ryan Cleckner walks you through minutes of angle so you can shoot better down range.
If you’ve never heard of minutes of angle, Ryan shows you what it is, how to calculate it, and what it means for your long range shooting.
Watch it here:
Learning to shoot long range will help you in hunting. Knowing how to calibrate your scope and shooting long range will save you a lot of headache from missing bucks you have in your sights.
Also, understanding your weapon as a tool and knowing its functionality will give you a sense of empowerment. This ingredient actually gives you a return on your investment.
You will discover that as you care for your rifle more and are more diligent about cleaning it correctly, sighting your scope accurately, and putting the best ammunition through it, the gun will last longer.
And you will be making more shots that you’re proud of.
